About the role
Change has been the driving force of Monash University’s growth and success for more than 60 years as they have strived to make a positive difference in the world, and it’s the foundation of their future as they redefine what it means to be a university.
The Impact 2030 strategic plan articulates how Monash will actively contribute to addressing three key global challenges of the age – climate change, geopolitical security and thriving communities – through excellent research and education for the benefit of national and global communities.
Having recently completed their successful Change It. For Future Generations philanthropic campaign, raising $1bn, Monash now seeks a Vice-President (Advancement) who will lead the next phase of significant growth in advancement activity, fostering a deeper culture of philanthropy and strengthening relationships with philanthropic partners, donors and alumni.
Reporting to the Vice-Chancellor and President, the Vice-President (Advancement) will serve as a key Monash ambassador, establishing a systematic model for advancement that permeates all facets of the Monash Group, and accelerates the growth and sustainability of philanthropic and alumni engagement outcomes, to support the University’s strategic priorities and ambitions.
Possessing a deep understanding of the University sector, or the capacity to quickly grasp and navigate it, the successful candidate will exhibit expertise across all aspects of advancement, particularly cultivating, soliciting and stewarding principal ($1M+) and mega gifts ($10M+). An energetic, inspirational and passionate leader, you will bring a history of success in strategic advancement activity, along with demonstrable capability in leading and developing high-performing teams, driving strategy, innovation and best-practice to maximise impact.
